Teaser pictures of the fabric stash that I’ve collected over the past 1 year in India.

Gorgeous brocades, weaves, trims, silks, embroidered & embellished fabrics. Woohoo! I roamed far & wide to collect these.

I’m still in India on assignement. Will return to Cambridge (UK) in mid March 2009. Till then, I shall be taking more pictures of stuff & noting prices alongside.
Some of the rectangular fabrics can be pre-ordered (if my supplier has any left) in case you want more that the 1 or 2 yards I have of each kind. Likely to be sold for between $7.50 and $14.50 for 1 meter (1.1 yard) depending on the weave.

The ‘scraps’, however are irregular shaped remnants which are all that I have & hence absolute one-of-a-kind. These cannot be found or purchased anywhere else! These are stunning pieces of embellished heaven & guaranteed to delight the crafter, scrap booker & quilter. Almost none of my scraps are plain fabric. They’re either embroidered or bejeweled.
Likely to be sold for $6.50 for 10 scraps.

Please let me know of any special/wholesale requests BEFORE the 27th of February 2009. All the items will be going online for sale after the 20th of March 2009 (once I get home). All items will be shipped from the UK. Shipping from India is fairly expensive unless you're buying several yards at once.
Let your quilter friends know :)
I can be emailed at mayacrafts@gmail.com

From yarn to textiles.

Howdy all,
I've always been a textile hunter much before I learnt to weave.
I've been in India on Photography assignments for the last many months & have come by lots of fabulous Indian textiles (mostly remnants & squares that I collect for my talented quilter mom - which I've doing since I was 12.). Brocades, silks, slubby cotton weaves, embroidered, you name it.
I'm seriously considering putting a ton of them up for sale on my Etsy shop (on which I used to sell yarn). Please let me know if there's any interest in them, in case you or your friends sew or quilt.
You can see some of the stuff my mom makes from the textiles she & I collect in India at her blog entries below.
