The DELIGHTFUL Book Charkha.

I have fallen in love with the book charkha (Indian foldable spinning wheel). Given my obsession with spinning, it's my Morphine - my fix for the day. This is also know as the Gandhi Charkha (is accelerated) & is a wonderful production spinning wheel for short fibers like Cotton, Angora, Cashmere & other animal fibers like Samoyed dog hair.
It's hand crafted from Teak & has a wonderful earthiness about it. It has a ratio of 65:1 (approx) which means for every 1 turn of the larger wheel, the spindle spins 65 times!
I've been carrying it everywhere me. Great to spin on when I'm out in the park enjoying Spring & the sun or travelling. It snaps shut like a book & weighs a measely 2 lbs.
